On November 3, the government, private sector, and the military sector came together for an integrated suppression drill. The drill was conducted at Odae-san (Mt) in Gangwon Province and some 1500 related officers and fire fighters participated in the drill.

Moreover, the Forest Fire Forecast Model, developed by the Korea Forest Service, precisely predicted the point of initial attack. The Chief of Korea Forest Service stressed that forest fires are becoming larger in scale and occurs simultaneously at different points that it is essential to develop an Integrated Incident Command System. He said that Korea Forest Service plans to increase the number of fire suppression crews and experts as well as promote capacity building in the local governments.
