November 20 - In relation to the Protection of Baekdu Daegan Area, Chief Cho, Yon-hwan of Korea Forest Service visited the residents of the region in dispute(Maebong-san Changjuk-dong Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do) last Saturday, November 20th.


Based on his belief that "the answer is at the scene," Chief Cho visited the residents living on the vegetable patches in the high altitude area of Maebong-san which is also the Baekdu Daegan border in dispute to solve the differences at stake.


The visit was to actually view the Baekdu Daegan border and experience the living conditions of the mountain villagers and to eventually find realistic alternative solutions.




Chief Cho said that he will reflect the outputs of the discussions with the residetns in the protection plans to establish environment-friendly solutions without violating the rights of the residents.
