The Framework Act on Forest is one of the major forest related laws. It was enacted on May 24, 2001.

The main purpose of this act is to provide quality life and advanced public enocomy by identifying the fundamentals of forest policy. This fundamentals promote diverse forest functions and development in forestry.

The basic principle of this act is the fact that the forest holds a vital role in conservation of national land and production of forest goods. Achieving harmony between forest conservation and forest land use is the main objective of this act.
