Consideration with a View to Recommending the Parameters of a Mandate for Developing a Legal Framework on all Types of Forests

◈ Ad Hoc Expert Group Meeting was held at the UN headquarters in New York from September 7 to 10, 2004.
◈ As the UNFF will be concluded in 2005 with the Fifth Session(May 16 - 27), this intersessional meeting had discussions on the consideration of developing legal framework, financing, new agreement mechanism, etc.
◈ Member countries basically agreed on developing new International Arrangement on Forests and UNFF reform however they showed divergent stand on legal framework.
◈ Advanced unedited version of the Final Report of the Ad Hoc Expert Group on consideration with a view to recommending the parameters of a mandate for developing a legal framework on all types of forests is attached.
