East-coast Forest Fire Center in Full Operation

East-coast Forest Fire Center is now in full operation. The Center was established in cooperation with 17 non-government and government agencies to effectively prevent and fight forest fires in the east coast area. Minister Park Hong-soo of Agriculture and Forestry, Chief Suh Seung-jin of the Korea Forest Service, and Mayor Sim Ki-seob of Gangneung City was present at the plate-hanging ceremony on March 8 held at the Center located on the 14th Floor of the Gangneung City Government Complex.






After the Ceremony, Contingency Planning lead by Minister Park was held at the Gangneung City Hall. Local forest fire related divisions and central agencies including NSC of the Office of the President, army corps, local governments from Gangwon and Northern Gyeongsang Province participated in the meeting.
