The 3rd Trilateral Director General Level Meeting on Forestry Cooperation among Japan, People’s Republic of China and Republic of was hosted in Tokyo, Japan on the 7th of September, 2016. This meeting was co-chaired by the three head delegates by Mr. ORITA Hiroshi, Director General of Private Forest Department, Forestry Agency of Japan, Mr. SU Chunyu, Director General, Department of International Cooperation, State Forestry Administration of China and Mr. KIM Yongkwan, Director General, International Affairs Bureau, Korea Forest Service, and also attended by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat.
The meeting touched upon shared issues in the field of forestry including forest disaster prevention, forest education and recreation, climate change and wood use promotion, and brought about the work plan to organize seminars and symposiums on forest recreation and forest therapy, soil and water conservation, REDD+, national forest GHG inventory, etc. respectively in the three countries.
This trilateral meeting has been organized by the three sides on a rotational basis since 2014, enhancing the forest cooperation among the neighboring countries and gathering joint efforts to contirbute to the global environment.
