Korea Forest Service invited Ambassadors from Embassies in Seoul on October 17 to the Korea National Arboretum as a gesture of gratitude for the attention and support provided by the Embassies to the Republic of Korea’s bid to host the 15th World Forestry Congress.
The World Forestry Congress is the largest gathering of foresters across the world that is held under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO).
The Deputy Minister of KFS, Mr. KIM Yongha, expressed his gratitude to the Ambassadors for their capital’s support in Korea’s bid, and asked for continued support and interest until the host country for the next World Forestry Congress is decided at the 155th Session of the FAO Council in December.
Ambassadors of the Embassy of Ecuador, Chile, Nicaragua, India, as well as representatives from the Embassy of Indonesia, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Brazil in Seoul shared a meaningful time with the Deputy Minister of KFS at the Korea National Arboretum, as the Deputy Minister introduced Korea’s reforestation history and the many benefits we draw from the forest ecosystem.
