The first steering committee for the Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism (FLR Mechanism) was held on July 1 at the FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy. Representatives from 11 organizations discussed issues including selection of countries to be supported by the FLRM, work-plan for June 2015-June 2016, and communication plan of the FLRM and key initiatives by June 2016. Director General of KFS International Affairs Bureau, KIM Yongkwan attended the meeting as a donor and conveyed Korea's interests. The next meeting will be held in Rome once again aligned with the 23rd session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO).
