The Korea Forest Service and the National Forest Cooperatives Federation hosted a forestry management consulting event「2007 Meeting with Mountain Owners」in the city of Gyeungju on July 17, which was for mountain owners and those interested in forestry.


The meeting, themed Forest management! Hope to mountain owners, provided consultation and information on forest management excellence, forestry products promotion, grant programmes for mountain owners to increase income and to revitalize the forestry industry. Moreover, forestry machines were on display and demonstrated.


The meeting was aimed to reflect hold-ups that foresters face and to introduce recent forestry policies. The consulting services on forestry products cultivating, fund support, forest management, etc were provided by the Korea Forest Service, the National Forestry Cooperatives Federation and 40 forestry experts at the meeting.

The meeting was open to those interested in forestry and provided consulting services available for them free of charge.


Mr. Suh Seung-jin, Chief of the Korea Forest Service at the meeting underlined that this meeting was targeted at building up capacity of forestry management and raising forestry income by introducing recent and advanced forestry technologies and information to foresters, and also aimed to enhance forest resources as national resources with high added value.
