The agreement on a joint plantation project in disused mines was made between the Korea Forest Service and the mine pollution control enterprise on Aug.31.





The project is to restore 10 abandoned mines by planting trees.


Five regional forest offices and the mine pollution control enterprise will jointly implement the project. Elimination of pollution sources undermining vegetation, river, and soil in the area will be done frist and the disused mines will be restored as forests through plantation activities of the project.
