The Korea Forest Service (Minister Lim Sang-seop) announced on the 31 July that it will provide information on Korea's forest recreation and welfare facilities such as beautiful forests, arboretums, gardens, and etc. to help people enjoy the summer vacation season amidst the scorching heat.

Trips to mountainous village are gaining popularity as vacation destinations because visitors can relieve physical and mental stress, and experience local culture as they spend time in nature. With more tourists visiting the area, this contributes to boosting the local economy and prevents depopulation in rural areas and abandoned regions.

197 natural recreation forests are operated nationwide, and their information is posted on the Forest Trip website (www.foresttrip.go.kr) or the Forest Trip (숲나들e) app.

The Korea Forest Welfare Institute manages 16 forest therapy centers, national forest education centers, and national healing forests across the country, which are introduced on the Sooperang website (www.sooperang.or.kr).

Additionally, information on 73 arboretums, 150 gardens, Korea's Top 100 Mountains, and the Top 50 Forest Trails in the country is available on the Korea Forest Service website (www.forest.go.kr).

All facilities mentioned are open for day visits, and accommodations at natural recreation forests, forest therapy centers, and forest experience centers can be reserved in advance. However, the operational method of each facility may vary depending on whether it is national, public, or private, so it is recommended to check their availability in advance before visiting.

Minister Lim Sang-seop of the Korea Forest Service stated, "We hope you can enjoy a cool summer vacation in mountainous villages and forests while contributing to preventing abandoned rural regions“ and added ”we will continue to create valuable and healthy forests for the public to enjoy."
