Korea Forest Service, in celebration of the Seventh Mountain Day, held the official ceremony on October 17. Some 500 people participated at this event including the Mr. Ha Young-je, Minister of Korea Forest Service and Mr. Han Bonggi, the Vice Governor. This event was held in Provincial Botanical Garden of Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.



The Mountain Day was first celebrated in 2002 in line with the International Day of Mountains designated by the UN. It reminds the public of the importance and value of mountains.
