The Bodhi Tree Sapling Hand-Over Ceremony was held at the Korea National Arboretum on 19 March 2014 and participated by honorable guests from Korea and India including Indian Secretary for External Affairs H.E. Anil Wadhwa, Korean Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Yun Byung-se, Ambassador of India to Seoul H.E. Wishnu Prakash, and Minister of the Korea Forest Service H.E. Shin Won Sop.

In commemoration of the strategic relationship between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of India, it is a special gift from Prime Minister of the Republic of India Manmohan Singh to President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye on the occasion of President Park’s visit to India for the Korea-India summit held in New Delhi on 16 January 2014.
