Mr. Cho Yon-hwan, the Chief of the Korea Forest Service said that as the significance of strengthening the capability of countering forest fires is becoming greater for the purpose of extinguishing forest fires effectively, a joint extinguishment training, in which a total of 300 people, including civilians, public officials, and the military troops will participate, in line with the 2005 Command Post Exercise, will be implemented in the Sokri-san area in Boeun-gun, Chungbuk-do, at 3 P.M on August 24.

The joint extinguishment training, based upon a variety of possible virtual scenarios, is due to cover a series of forest extinguishment processes, including step-by-step measures and response systems in accordance with the development of forest fires.
