Korea Forest Service, in celebration of the 60th Arbor Day, hosted a tree planting ceremony in presence of Mr. President and First Lady, foresters, students, NGOs, and local residents. the ceremony was held in the Experiment Forest of Korea Forest Research Institute in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do on April 5, 2005. During the ceremony some 4,200 trees(lily trees, chestnut, oak) were planted. Along with planting, thinning and pruning activities were undertaken. In the opening statement, President Roh mentioned that persons with vision for the future, be it for a personal matter or a regional task, tend to plant trees.
