The Korea Forest Service, in collaboration with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, is organizing the International Symposium on Combating Desertification on 10 June 2014 in observance of the 2014 World Day to Combat Desertification. It will bring together policy makers to discuss future directions of national policies relating to combating desertification, raise public awareness about the adverse affects of desertification and also to promote public-private partnership in the field.
