Korea Forest Service held tree planting on November 3 in Gaeseong forest area and Gaeseong Industrial Compound together with the Minister of Unification, and some 200 perons including devoted forest managers, forest related associations, and Geoseong factory workers. They planted 27,000 trees of 6 species including fir, Korean pine, chestnut trees, etc.


This is the second occassion following the one in spring that aims to achieve forest restoration and unification.

Mr. Cho Yon-hwan, the Chief of KFS, emphasized that planting trees is planting history and future. He also stressed that joint planting in Gaeseong will be a foundation for the peace and unification of the Korean peninsula.
