Minister of the Korea Forest Service SHIN Won Sop welcomed Honorable Minister of Environment of Ecuador Ms. Lorena Tapia Nunez and her party including Mr. Nicolas Trujillo, Ambassador of Ecuador Embassy in Korea.

Both ministers shared their insights at the meeting held at the Korea Forest Research Institute on 18 October. The Ecuadorian side presented on its plan for forest restoration on 500,000 ha and requested cooperation and technical support from Korea. In this regard, both sides agreed to discuss how to collaborate on forest restoration cooperation at the second meeting of Korea-Ecuador Forestry Cooperative Committee to be held in Ecuador, 2015 and explored the feasibility of organizing a back to back workshop.
