[History]
- 1994: Seyang Cosmo Co,. Ltd initiated the overseas plantation in Viet Nam.
- 1997: Discussed forestry cooperation at the World Forestry Congress in Turkey.
- December 1998: Concurred on forestry cooperation during the Summit.
- July 1999: Signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Forestry Cooperation.
- 1st Forestry Cooperative Committee (2000): Focused on information exchange, support for plantation projects, promoting trade and investment.
- 2nd Forestry Cooperative Committee (2002): Deliberated on the conifer plywood manufacturing technology and exchange of data on wood processing products.
- 3rd Forestry Cooperative Committee (2004): Mediated conflicts related to profit-sharing between forestry cooperatives and local forestry businesses.
- 4th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2006): Explored the pilot project for restoration degraded forest and discussed expansion of overseas plantation.
- 5th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2008): Addressed the Afforestation and Reforestation Clean Development Mechanism projects and signing the MOU on provision of plantation for forestry investment.
- 6th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2010); Centered on request for forest restoration and signing the MOU on provision of plantation for forestry investment.
- 7th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2012): Included discussions of information provision on plantation and forestry laws.
- 8th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2015): Addressed agendas regarding support for business investment, green mountainous village restoration projects, and joint research on biodiversity.
- 9th Forestry Cooperative Committee (2017): Presented on the bilateral forestry cooperation, timber and wood product trade, overseas plantation and forestry investment, joint research on biodiversity enhancement, and Seed Vault seed conservation.
- Signing the renewed MOU (June 23, 2023): With the aim of specifying the area of cooperations and adjusting the time period of having forestry cooperative committee and renewal of the agreement, the two sides renewed the MOU with the presence of respective Presidents of the two countries.
