The 5th Korea-China Forestry Cooperative Committee was held on the 13th of October, 2005 in Daejeon based Government Complex. Mr. Lee Soo-hwa, deputy chief of the Korea Forest Service and Mr. Yang Jiping, deputy director of the Chinese State Forestry Administration signed an agreement on major forestry cooperative measures between the two countries, such as the importing of Siberian tigers, reforestation for combating desertification in the northwestern regions of China, the control of pine wilt disease, the development of bamboo resources, and ecological forestry. They agreed to closely collaborate with each other in the future.
