The 2014 ASEAN-ROK Special Ministerial Meeting on Forestry (SMMF) will be held from 10-11 December 2014 in Busan during the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit. The main objectives of this meeting are to endorse a stepwise strategic approach to expand Korea's forest cooperation with Asia through establishment of the AFoCO and to develop a regional mechanism for forest disaster management in the ASEAN region. In addition, prior to the ministerial meeting, the 5th Session of the ASEAN-Korea Forest Cooperation Governing Council is scheduled to convene on 9 December 2014.
