On March 14, 2005, Mr. Lee Soo-hwa, the Deputy Chief of Korea Forest Service attended the FAO Ministerial Meeting on Forest held prior to the 17th FAO Committee on Forestry in Rome, Italy. He made a statement focusing on the need for international awareness on invasive species such as pine wilt disease(pinewood nematode) after which the concern was reflected in the FAO Ministerial Statement.
