China is to host a three-day forum to exchange ideas and experiences in the field of earth observation, especially in arid and semi-arid regions such as Central Asia. The International Symposium on Earth Observation for Arid and Semi-Arid Environments, set to take place in Kashgar, western China, from Sept. 18-21, 2012, is expected to draw a number of experts, policy makers and students from around the world interested in the topic.
