Mr. Cho Yon-hwan, the Chief of the Korea Forest Service, paid a visit to areas of which forests had been heavily damaged due to torrential rain from August 2 through August 3. He called on the public officials concerned to carry out restoration activities rapidly and take necessary measures to prevent such disaster, expressing regrets on the damages in the forests.
