Chief Suh Seung-jin of Korea Forest Service, along with Sacheon City Mayor Kim Soo-young and forest stakeholders visited pine wilt disease affected areas in Sacheon City, Southern Gyeongsang Province on February 7. They reviewed the state of pine wilt disease spread and the progress on disease control measures. Chief Suh gave high regard on the efficient works of the Sacheon City Forestry Division in eradication of the affected trees. He further pointed out that the Korea Forest Service will give full support in pine wilt disease control measures including mobilizing regional experts for field guidance.

He requested for continued concern and support from the heads of local governments on prevention of pine wilt disease.
