The 1st 2014 REDD+ Capacity Building Program was held at the Forest Training Institute of the Korea Forest Service from May 12 to 16, 2014.
A total of 17 government officials from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar were invited to participate in lectures, discussions, and field studies on REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries). More specifically, the program included lectures such as "Current Status and Policies of REDD+ in Korea," "Forest Carbon Survey and Field Study," "REDD+ Socio-economic Survey," etc.; a field visit to the Healing Forest of Saneum Natural Recreation Forest; National Reports and discussions; and Korean cultural experiences.
