The Fourth Korea-Vietnam Forestry Cooperative Committee meeting was held on May 11 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The 2 delegations were headed by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, the Director General of Forestry of Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Mr. Lee Soo-hwa, the Deputy Chief of Korea Forest Service.


The Korean side requested for large scale potential plantation sites and investment security, local plantation training for residents, and improvement of investment conditions in Vietnam. Vietnam side had agreed to provide an appropriate scale of land for plantation and to continuously enhance the investment conditions.


Both sides have agreed to jointly implement a pilot project on forest rehabilitation in Vietnam as a part of the 5 million national rehabilitation project. This pilot project will be implemented in Quang Binh Province.
