24th Korea-Indonesia Forest Cooperative Committee

The 24th meeting of Korea-Indonesia Forest Cooperative Committee was held  on 25 September 2020 as a video meeting, recognizing the need to turn our shared threat of COVID 19 into an opporuntiy for our concerted efforts in enhancing the forest cooperation between the two countries.

The Korean delegation was headed by Dr. Park Chong-ho, Minister, Korea Forest Service. and Honorable Minister, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya led the Indonesia delegation. 

The 24th meeting provided a platform to discuss on-going cooperation projects, new research and future activities on peatland restoration, forest-ecotourism, timber legality, forest fire management, forest plantation investment, wood biomass, etc. 

Both sides reaffirmed the commitments to work in partnership towards greener and stronger forest cooperation between the two countries and hoped to meet again at the upcoming global events including the 15th World Forestry Congress, the 2nd P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030), two of which will be hosted in Seoul next May, and the COP4 to the Minamata Convention on Mercury to be hosted in Bali 2021.
