KFS to Provide Overseas Market Development Fund for Forest Product Exporters
- 5 promising companies selected to lead the expansion of Korean forest product exports -


The Korea Forest Service (Minister KIM In-ho) announced on October 24th that it had selected five promising export companies to lead the overseas expansion of Korean forest products and held an award ceremony at the Korea Forestry Promotion Institute in Seoul.

Each year, the KFS selects and supports promising exporters in the forest products industry to assist them strengthen their export competitiveness, thereby expanding exports and promoting income growth for forest product producers.

Grand Prize of this year went to Homsrang Co., Ltd. Agriclutural Corporation from Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, for its instant rice pouch with edible greens product that contains four kinds of greens from Gangwon including Korean thistle Gondre, fischer’s ragwort Gomchwi, Korean aster Chamchwi, and Korean hogweed Eosuri. Three companies as Seoga Co., Ltd., agricultural corporation for bite size candied ballon flower roots Doraji, Samdawon Co., Ltd., agricultural corporation for fermented wild-simulated ginseng, and Pruda Forest Landscape Co., Ltd. for wooden Deck Road System awarded as Gold Prize. Innovation Prize went to Keundeal Agriclutural Corporation Co., Ltd. for Schisandra berry Omija syrup stick.

Each award-winning company will receive a portion of approximately 100 million KRW (about USD 70,000) in overseas market development funds next year to promote their products and explore marketing opportunities in their target countries.

The KFS will provide a total of approximately 100 million KRW (about 70,000 USD) next year to the awarded companies to carry out overseas market expansion activities, such as promotion and marketing, in the countries of their choice.

NAM Song-hee, Director General of the International Affairs Bureau at the Korea Forest Service, congratulated the winners, saying, “The KFS expresses its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the five companies that have achieved this honor through fierce competition. We will continue to identify high-quality processed forest products and spare no effort in helping Korean enterprises expand into overseas markets.”
