Deogyu Mountain
Deogyusan national park (1,614M), stretched out from Sobaek mountain range to the south, covers parts of 4 countries in 2 provinces of Jeollabuk-do, Gyeongsangnam-do. It was designated as a national park in 1975.
There are a number of spectacles including 33 views of Mujugucheondong. They are made up of several waterfalls, over 10 ponds and 13 pedestals in the area of valleys about 30km from Baengnyeonsa (Temple) to Najetongmun, Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun. And also there are 11 views of Anseonggyegok (Valley) covering from Yongchupokpo (water fall) to Chiryeonpokpo (water fall). There are plenty of historic remains here and there; Gwaebul (卦佛 a wall chart with a Buddha, treasure No.1276) in Anguksa (Temple), Jeokseongsanseong (Fortress, historic relics No. 146). And a group of rare yew trees create a beautiful scene. There are diversely distributed groups of over 600 animals and 250 plants, which are also magnificent views.
In spring, it's famous for its royal azaleas. Cool valley of Gucheondong is perfect for summer getaway. Fall foliage and snowscape in winter present natural wonder. There are historic relics such as Najetongmun (羅濟通門), Jeokseongsanseong, Hoguksaji etc. and temples such as Anguksa, Baengnyeonsa, Wontongsa, Songgyesa, Inworam. Large Deogyu camping site to train mountaineers and social groups and large sized nature study garden are the pride of Deogyusan national park.
