This is the only multi-functional park mixed with mountains and the sea in one place among Korea's national parks. The beach area is Oebyeonsan (Mt., outer Byeonsan), and the inner mountainous area is called Naebyeonsan (Mt., inner Byeonsan). Designated as a national park in 1988, it has Uisangbong (508m), Shinseonbong (486m), Ssangseonbong (459m) in it and other peaks made of strange rocks. Between them, it has Gaeamsa (Temple), Naesosa (Temple), Weolmyeongam (Temple) and many other venerable temples and Jiksopokpo (Waterfall), Bongnaegugok (Valley), Nakjodae. They give fine views everywhere. Also, there are historical sites such as Yucheollidoyoji, Jiseokmyogun of Guam-ri, Hobeolchi, and Wugeumsanseong (Fortress). It is one of the 8 views of Korea that holds Chaeseokgang (River), Jeokbyeokgang (River), Shinseokjeong Shibi (Monument of a poem), and Geumguwon, the first sculpture park in Korea, and has 3 beaches such as Byeonsan beach, Gyeokpo, Gosapo beach.
Also, after the completion of Buan dam in 1995 in Naebyeonsan, the water was filled in the Junggyegyegok (Valley), which became a lake, giving a great view along with the rocks forming natural cliffs. Also, various plants and animals live inside the park area. Among these, holly, silver magnolia, Kkwangkkwang tree, Miseon tree are designated and protected as natural monuments. It offers bathing and hiking at the same time, luring lots of visitors throughout the year.
