Unjang Mountain
There are six routes for ascending Unjangsan (Mt.). The first is ascending Seobong (Peak) from Oecheosadong, Daebul-ri, and descending to Naecheosadong. The second is to ascend Dongbong (Peak) from Naechesadong. The third, from Jeongsugung in Gunghang-ri, Bugwi-myeon and the fourth, from Bonggok, Hwanggeum-ri. The fifth, from Garijeom, Bonghak-ri, Jeongcheon and the sixth, from Geomtae, Dongsang-myeon of Wanju. Recently there are many mountaineers ascending from a resting place after passing through the path made in Geomtae Valley.
There are three peaks in Unjangsan. Jungbong (Peak) called Sangbong (Peak) between Dongbong (Peak) and Seobong (Peak) is the highest. It usually takes 3 or 4 hours, and 5 or 6 hours in winter for a hike turning around a ridge of eulalia and a bamboo grove and then descending. Soon you will stand on Jungbong (Peak) and it means that you are on the roof of Jeolla-do, the top of Noryeong Mountain Range.
