Overview

Hwangseoksan (Mt.) is an extraordinary rocky mountain which rises on the south of Namdeogyusan (Mt.). This peak rising like a dagger at the end bottom in the middle of four mountains, Gibaek, Geumwon, Geomang and Hwangseok stretched down from Baekdu Daegan Mountain System is clearly shown from Deogyusan (Mt.).
In fall a wonderful sight of vast eulalia field on the ridegeline connected to Hwangseok from Geomang is great. The famous Yongchugyegok (Valley) is located between Geumwon and Gibaek. The neighboring mountain is Geomangsan (Mt.) where female General Jeong Sundeok, a partisan, was actively involved during the Korean War.
Hwangseok Fortress is an important relic as the symbol of fidelity and loyalty of people of Seoha in Hamyang. It is the place where people were killed while resisting Japanese Invasion to the end. At that time, women killed themselves by throwing their bodies down to the rocky precipice in the north side of Hwangseoksan which has been dyed red until now.
Neighboring pavilions are famous. Among them, especially Nongwoljeong (Pavilion), DonghoJeong (Pavilion), Geoyeonjeong (Pavilion) and Gunjajeong (Pavilion) represent the culture of pavilions in Gyeongsang-do
