The center was built in 2008 to collect, conserve and deliver a wide range of information on tropical plants to the public. It is a steel-framed glass building of 3,834㎡. The inside is designed to be environmentally suitable for tropical and subtropical plants as well as preserving about 3,000 rare and endangered plants such as Welwitchia mirabilis. The center is continuously committed to brace for global warming and preserving biodiversity.
