International Day of Forests 2025: Harnessing Fore
The Korea Forest Service (KFS), under the leadership of Minister LIM Sang-seop, hosted the International Day of Forests 2025 on March 21 at the Korea National Arboretum in collaboration with the Asia Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO).The United Nations proclaimed March 21 as the International Day of Forests to raise awareness of the significance of forests, and this year’s theme was "Forests and Foods."This theme underscores the global food crisis, which has been worsened by climate change, and emphasizes the need for enhanced international cooperation and solidarity to promote sustainable forest management as a response.The event was attended by various intergovernmental organizations, including CHUNG Keeyong, Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Climate Change at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as embassies from 18 countries, including the United States, Germany, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan, along with the Food and Agriculture Organiza...
