The Department of Special Forest Resources Research aims to maximize the value of forest biological resources and increase the income of forestry workers. We conduct various studies focusing on forest fruits and wild vegetables that can generate income in a short period after establishing cultivation sites, post-harvest management of forest products, and honey resources.
We develop and distribute new varieties and items of forest fruits and wild vegetables that reflect market demand. Additionally, we research cultivation management techniques that can respond to various environmental changes, such as climate change and labor shortages. Through this, we aim to contribute to the stable supply of high-quality forest food and increase the income of forestry workers.

On-site Demonstration
We are conducting research to minimize post-harvest losses and maintain freshness during storage and distribution by analyzing the physiological and pathological characteristics of short-term income forest products (fruits and vegetables). Furthermore, we are developing the framework for the food technology and green bio industries, with a particular focus on enhancing distribution efficiency and securing premium raw materials for processing to increase the value of forest fruits and vegetables.

Through the evaluation of the potential honey production capacity of nectar plants, we identify superior resources and develop new varieties and optimal cultivation techniques to
improve productivity. We also conduct research on the functional properties of specialized honey varieties. Furthermore, we are developing a multi-purpose beekeeping forest model for carbon absorption sources and reforestation of damaged areas using high-quality nectar trees.
