As climate change affects forest ecosystems and forestry at large, the center conducts the research to assess its impact and vulnerability, to construct an alternative forest management system for climate change adaptation, and to provide policy support and field oriented scientific service. Research areas of our center are largely "climate change impacts and adaptation research", "mountain meteorology research", "integrated database development for forest conservation research", and "information utilization research". In the area of climate change impacts and adaptation, we oversee research on the climate change response and carry out research on the climate change and vulnerability assessment in forestry including changes of vulnerable forest ecosystems to climate change. In the area of mountain meteorology research, we construct and manage meteorological monitoring network, promote mountain meteorology service and utilization technology research through interpretation and predication of mountain meteorology, and develop information system for mountain meteorology and climate change impact. In addition, the center persists in establishing an integrated database for mountain meteorology, forest ecology, forest disasters, and forest insect pests and diseases and developing a distribution system to promote the effectiveness of converged forest science research.
